It’s been a busy year on the range at Jacksonville Clay Target Sports, with a variety of club shoots giving shooters new ways to compete, challenge themselves and enjoy time with the JCTS community.
Throughout 2026, JCTS has hosted several fun shoots featuring different disciplines, formats and challenges. Each event has brought something a little different to the range while giving both regular competitors and recreational shooters another reason to come out and participate.
This summer brought several opportunities to get involved. In June, shooters took on the Super Sport 100-Target Shoot, followed by the Side by Side Handicap Sporting event in July. The Side by Side shoot featured handicaps based on gauge, creating a unique challenge for everyone who participated.
In August, JCTS hosted the Pump Only Handicap 5-Stand, a 50-target event that challenged shooters to leave their usual setup behind and take on the course with a pump-action shotgun. Most recently, the Skeet Doubles & Wobble Trap Fun Shoot on September 5 gave participants the chance to enjoy two different disciplines in one event, with 50 targets of Skeet Doubles and 50 targets of Wobble Trap.
One of the things that makes these events so much fun is the variety, and we’re always looking for ideas for what could come next. If you have an idea for a future JCTS fun shoot, we want to hear it! Send your suggestions to Sam Davidson at vicepresident@jacksonvilleclaytargetsports.com.
Thank you to everyone who has participated in our club shoots so far this year. There’s still plenty more to come. Keep an eye out for upcoming shoots, events and new opportunities to get out on the range at Jacksonville Clay Target Sports. We look forward to seeing you at the next one!
