November News & Announcements

JCTS has a busy Fall schedule planned! In addition to recreational shooting four days of the week, JCTS also hosts many charitable and fundraising events.  You are invited to participate in many of these shoots.  These organizations welcome your participation, because it will assist them in serving the many needs of our community. Check the JCTS calendar to find out how you can participate, support these organizations, and develop more clay target friends.

In addition to all of the non-profit and private events planned at the club, we are excited to host several NSCA-registered sporting clays shoots the next few months, including the Clay Harvest Sporting Clays Shoot Nov. 19

The annual Club Championship and elections will be held Saturday, December 2nd.  The Club Championship program includes skeet, trap, and sporting clays disciplines, and it is a great opportunity to connect with old friends and make new ones. If you are a Life Member, you can vote for the officer and board slate on Saturday, December 2nd, or you can assign your proxy to the Club Secretary.

As a reminder, dues for Annual Club Memberships are due. If you have not yet remitted your annual dues, please do so quickly.  If you are not yet a member, and have been considering a membership, please talk to a club officer or board member about the benefits. Membership choices and sporting clay discount packages are explained in detail on the club website

We would like to thank everyone who participated in the club’s 81st Birthday Bash and Member Appreciation Day, October 14th. The JCTS community rallied together to enjoy a day of hunter retriever demonstrations, FWC demonstrations, Gunsmith lessons, turkey shoots and more. And thank you to our sponsors Kelsey Doleo of Gunsmiths, Inc., duPont Kreighoff Guns, XL Carts, Trek International Safaris, The Outdoors Show, and WJXT Channel 4 River City Live for helping us celebrate the tradition and history of JCTS!

As you complete your year end planning, please remember that JCTS established a 501C3 foundation that raises funds to promote shotgun sports education and training. This foundation has already been instrumental in providing funds for the Brooks Adaptive Sports Trap program, Jax Belles With Shells ladies shooting program, and youth activities. We encourage you to remember the JCTS Foundation as you complete your 2017 year end planning as well as your estate planning. Donations can be made at the Pro Shop or by mail.

We hope to see you at the club soon!
