Jacksonville Clay Target Sports Newsletter February 2016

Jacksonville Clay Target Sports Newsletter February 2016

We just finished a busy December and it looks like a busy January as well. The weather has been absolutely beautiful for shooting. I hope you will take advantage of the weather and come to the club.

If you have not been at the club in the past couple of months you will notice a new ADA (Americans with the Disability Act) skeet and trap field 4. Also, you will notice a new bathroom and a new handicap parking area to the east of the clubhouse. In the main dining area you will see a piece of history in the form of the old sign that once was at the club's entrance. And by the time you read this there will be a new bulletin board and an activity board in the dining room.

Every Saturday and Sunday lunch will be served at the club. The name of our new caterer is Bad Boys, and they make a mean namesake sandwich and an amazing burger. Lunches are moderately priced and all seem to enjoy them.

February will be a busy month with several special events as well as the Fish Fry Skeet Tournament. For that event we expect a full field of 150 shooters. Many of these shooters come from all over the country as well as from overseas.

The Pro Shop has some nice items for sale including some nice bags and shell carriers, along with technical t-shirts, club logo short sleeve shirts, and accessories. As a club member you also may purchase shotgun shells in bulk (20 flats or 200 boxes) at a very competitive price.

With so many new shooters at the club our Safety Officers have their hands full and they need your help. If you see any unsafe activity please let them know or call the Pro Shop for assistance. We all want to have a good time but also in a safe environment.

I hope to see you at the club a lot more often in 2016,

Z. Mincek
Club President
