Jacksonville Clay Target Sports Newsletter March 2016

Jacksonville Clay Target Sports Newsletter March 2016

As I write this month's newsletter I am very excited about all the activity at the club. We had a great January and now it seems we're having a great February with spectacular weather enabling many shooters to come out and enjoy the sport of shotgun shooting at our club.

Among the many featured activities we have had several fundraising events and a SCI family outing; and still to come, during the last weekend of February the club will be hosting a Fish Fry Skeet Tournament. Director Bud Steil tells me that there will be around 150 shooters attending this event.

We have also started an interesting "get-to-know-you" event each Friday. It is a 100 target sporting-clay shoot where a member shows up at 2PM on Friday, signs up, gets paired with other shooters, and goes to shoot at 2:30PM. This is a great way to meet other members of the club and be guaranteed to have someone to shoot with. After the shoot the score is turned in and posted on the bulletin Board.

On March 19th the club will be hosting its first Sporting Clay Tournament. The tournament details will be sent to you in an email and will also be posted on the Bulletin Board. I hope to see a large participation by club members.

Coming up in August will be the Zone 4 Championship. This is the second time in the club's history that we have been honored to host this prestigious event. We anticipate 150 of the best skeet shooters in Florida and several surrounding states to participate.

I'm pleased let you know that the ADA (Americans with Disability Act) project has been completed; but this is not the end of our renovation as we have other improvements planned and will be announcing them in the near future.

I hope to see you at the club,

Z. Mincek
