Jacksonville Clay Target Sports is proud to serve as the official home range for the Jacksonville University Shooting Team—a partnership that reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the future of shooting sports and fostering excellence within our community.
The JU team has established itself as a standout in collegiate clay target shooting, earning recognition for its precision, sportsmanship, and strong performance at competitions across the Southeast. Leading the team is Coach David Dobson, whose extensive experience and passion for teaching make him an exceptional mentor. David’s leadership has played a vital role in the team’s growth and continued success.
Coach Dobson holds an impressive combination of certifications, including NSCA Level III and NSSA Level III—the highest instructor levels in both associations—as well as Paragon Master Instructor status. He is currently the only person in the United States to hold all three of these certifications. His ability to connect with student-athletes, provide technical instruction, and inspire excellence is unmatched.
Thanks to this partnership, JU student-athletes have full access to JCTS’s premier facilities, including trap, skeet, and sporting clays. This allows them to train at a high level while engaging with our local shooting community. For JCTS members and guests, it’s a chance to witness the next generation of shooters develop their skills and pursue their passion for the sport.
